Andra Day and Andi Matichak
Cassandra Monique Batie aka Andra Day is a American R&B/Soul singer-songwriter. She has won an Grammy Award and Children's and Family Emmy Award. Golden Globe Award as well as Academy Award nominations are also an honor for her. Andra Day is a gifted and skilled artist. It's not like she's a throwback R&B professional, but her roots in gospel jazz as well as the blues is evident and translates to today's music. An important break occurred after a show she performed was spotted by Kai Millard Morris who subsequently offered some of Day's songs to her husband Stevie Wonder. The Motown legend then linked Day with music industry veteran Adrian Gurvitz. Day is a close ally with Gurvitz and Jeffrey Evans Buskin Label Day and became a YouTube phenomenon after which she signed with Warner Bros. In 2012 Day dropped Forever Mine as her debut track on YouTube. It was played promptly by radio DJs. Following her joining Warner Bros. Records, she began to work with producer Adrian Gurvitz on the album she released as her first "Cheers to the fall" (2015). It featured the track Rise Up that became an song for the social justice movement all over the world. Day was awarded two Grammy nominations, including Best R&B Album. The album was released The United States Vs. Billie Holiday in 2019, a concept record about the life and career of the jazz icon Billie Holiday. The United States against Billie Holiday came out in 2021. It was the same year in which she was also featured in the film Holiday. Andi Mattichak was an American actor. She made her television debut in series like 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods prior to making her feature film debut in the role of Allyson Nelson on the horror film series Halloween as well as its sequels. Andi is an American actor who was born in Framingham on the 3rd of May 1994.
