Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th, 1980) was an American actress, singer, and dancer. Some of her early Broadway performances included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. in You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of well-known directors and actors in stage films and television. She continues this award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford can be seen next in the role of Kumail Nanjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford's upcoming project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. As it is a Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney DTC's platform. Ashford will be returning in 2023 and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The team behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at leading the production. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main characters in the first impeachment proceeding in America in more than 100 years. Two seasons ago, Ashford was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Other Broadway roles for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received an Tony Award nomination. Ashford, who was brought up in Denver is now based living in Los Angeles and New York.
